THE CLASSES OF INFORMATION  
   
These classes of information do not include information about particular members of staff or other individuals, nor does it contain information that may endanger the physical or mental health of individuals, including our staff. They also do not include information relating to investigations and proceedings with a view to it being ascertained whether a person should be charged or is guilty of committing an offence or investigations that are conducted by us by virtue of powers conferred under any enactment.  
   
We will state how you can obtain the information outlined within each Class. This will be either via the website or as hard copies or other media as stated within each Class. The publications are all free unless otherwise indicated within each Class [with £].Where information is provided at a cost the charges will be as set out in Class 14.  
   
The PPD's commitment to publish information excludes any information, which can legitimately be withheld under the exemptions set out in the Freedom of Information Act. Where individual classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are e.g. the protection of commercial interests, personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998, or information which could prove detrimental to the security, integrity or operation of the PPD. This applies to all Classes within the Publication Scheme.  
   
The Publication Scheme will be available in both hard copy and on our web site.

    This Publication Scheme
     
    In this class we will publish any changes we make to this Publication Scheme, the criteria on which our information management policies are made and a referral point for all enquires regarding information management generally in the PPD. We will also publish any proposed changes or additions to publications already available.

    Costs of Information  
     
    For the most part, we will charge you only for multiple hard copies or copying onto media (e.g. CD ROM). Some information is available free, but for others there may be a charge. The charges will vary according to how information is made available. Charges are as follows:  
     
    a) Via the PPD's web site - Free of charge, although any charges for Internet Service provider and personal printing costs would have to be met by the individual  
         
      For those without Internet access, a single printout as on the website would be available by post from:

      However, requests for multiple printouts, or for archived copies of documents that are no longer accessible or available on the web, may attract a charge for the retrieval, photocopy, postage etc. We will let you know the cost and charges that will have to be paid in advance. We will not provide printouts of other organisation's websites.  
         
    b) Leaflets and brochures - free of charge for leaflets or booklets on, for example, services we offer to the public (see class 8 above).  
         
    c) "Glossy" or other bound paper copies, or in some cases a CD Rom, video or other media, may attract a charge. We will let you know the cost and charges that will have to be paid in advance  
         
    d) e-mail - will be free of charge unless it says otherwise  
         
      These charges will be reviewed regularly.
