PCT Guidance for Organisational Changes

This guidance explains why and how you need to inform the PPD of any organisational changes within your PCT that will impact on the PPD systems.

The PPD is solely dependent on the PCT for updates in the following areas. Instructions on how to inform the PPD of any changes and which forms to use can be viewed or printed by selecting one of the relevant options below:

  1. General Practitioner
  2. Walk in Centres
  3. Non Medical Prescribers
  4. Hospitals
  5. Contractors (Pharmacy and Appliance)
  6. PCT details
  7. Prescribing Budget
  8. Patient List Sizes
  9. GP Practice codes
  10. Private CD Prescribers
  11. Private CD Pharmacies

The information you provide ensures:

  • Accurate prescribing and dispensing reporting by the PPD (for additional information see PACT Technical Guide, Toolkit, ePACT.net)
  • The PPD transfers valid prescriber details to 3MSPS (prescription form printing company) so that personalised prescriptions can be produced.
NB You are responsible for ordering prescription pads from 3MSPS
  • Accurate payments are calculated by the PPD for contractors and prescribers.

Only authorised personnel in a PCT or an Agency, registered with the PPD, are responsible for informing the PPD of changes.

The completed information should be emailed to prescription.information@ppa.nhs.uk. For further information please contact 0191 2035110.
