Walk-in-Centres
The PPD
are unable to action a request for a code for a Walk-in-Centre
(WiC) unless the WiC is on the official list provided by the
NHS Executive.
The PCT should advise the PPD of a WiC using headed notepaper
and must be signed by the prescribing lead at the PCT.
The information
supplied must include:
- WiC
name
- WiC
address
- WiC
postcode
- WiC
telephone number
- The
effective start date
- The
names and nurse PIN numbers of any nurse prescribers who
will be working at the WiC.
The PPD
will allocate a practice code and a spurious GP code to the
WiC even if informed that the WiC is Nurse led.
The PCT
must order:
- Personalised prescription pads from 3MSPSL in respect of the new PCT using the 3MSPSL
ordering procedure
