Dispensing Endorsement
Guidance
Dispensing endorsements are required
under certain circumstances to ensure that the appropriate
reimbursement and remuneration is received by contractors.
The dispenser should provide clear and unambiguous information
on the designated section of the prescription form against
which the PPD can calculate payments.
The use of unnecessary dispensing endorsements
is a common problem and can be avoided through an understanding
of the circumstances in which they are actually required.
The PPD and the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating
Committee (PSNC) have produced the following guidance

Branded drugs that are produced by more than one manufacturer on the dispensing endorsement guidance
Guidance issued by the PPD in order to allow accurate reimbursement of branded products which are licenced under the same name but are available from more than one manufacturer.
