Is a weighting system which allows comparison of the prescribing in different
practices based on individual practice populations for age, sex and temporary
residents as well as patients aged 65.
The ASTRO-PU figures used in the report
are based on cost, rather than number of prescription items. ASTRO-PUs are
calculated using practice patient list sizes information supplied by PCTs.
