on obtaining Acrobat Reader free of charge can be found
here.
There are some known problems with version 6.0.0 of
Acrobat Reader – either version 5.0 or 6.0.1 should
be used. |
| Microsoft

Excel

NHSnet / Internet Connection
The ePFIP service can be accessed using a 64Kbps connection
to NHSnet / Internet, but performance may be affected, depending
upon the load placed upon this connection by other activities
within your Practice. Improved performance can be obtained
using a broadband 256Kbps connection. The NHS Information
Authority has a Bandwidth Upgrade Project to deliver broadband
connections to all GP practices by September 2004; more details
are available here.
Pop-up Blocker
The ePFIP service requires that your web browser has pop-up
windows enabled. The latest versions of Internet Explorer
have pop-up windows disabled by default to stop unwanted advertisements
so it is important that these instructions are followed to
allow access to ePFIP.
The
following instructions explain how to configure the pop-up
blocker so that it only allows pop-up windows from the PPD
website.
NOTE:
This is not a security risk because the instructions
show that pop-ups can be enabled just for the PPD website
and disabled for all other sites and, also, because the connection
to ePFIP is via NHSNet and not the internet.
- Go
to the Pop-up Blocker Settings:

- Enter
*.ppa.nhs.uk into the 'Address Of Web Site To Allow' and
press the Add button:

- Close
the Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box after the site has
been added:
