electronic Prescribing & Financial Information for Practices (ePFIP).

Version 4 Release Notes - April 2006

The fourth release of the ePFIP service in April 2006 includes the following changes:

Practice Prescribing Report (PPR)

The Practice Prescribing Report has been discontinued because most of its information is available in either the Prescribing Analysis Report or the Prescribing Monitoring Document. Its graphs 'Trends in Prescribing Volume and Cost for your Practice' and 'Comparison of Cost/ASTRO-PU' are now available within the Prescribing Analysis Report.

Prescribing Analysis Report

The Prescribing Analysis Report has been amended to include the graphs ‘Trends in Prescribing Volume and Cost for your Practice’ and ‘Comparison of Cost/ASTRO-PU’ that were previously available in the Practice Prescribing Report.

The 'Trends in Prescribing Volume and Cost for your Practice' graphs shows Cost and Items for the Practice for the last 13 months for monthly reports and the last 8 quarters for quarterly reports.

The 'Comparison of Cost/ASTRO-PU' graph shows the total cost per ASTRO-PU for the Practice, its parent PCT and England for the last 13 months for monthly reports and the last 8 quarters for quarterly reports.

The Prescribing Analysis Report has also been enhanced to show a breakdown of List Size information for each GP within the Practice.

Practice Detailed Prescribing Information (PDPI) Report

The PDPI system has been enhanced to show prescribing by GP Registrar/Trainees and by Locums.

There is a new 'Prescribing Type' option on the PDPI Data Selector that can restrict the PDPI report to only contain prescribing by Trainees/GP registrars or Locum/Deputising Services.

PCT Access

Access to the PCT reports is still only available via the NHS Net connection.
