1. Double-click the Microsoft Internet Explorer icon or select it from your Programs menu. (The minimum version of Internet Explorer must be 4. Ideally, for optimum performance the version should be 4.72 or higher)

2. Enter the following website into the address bar:

http://www.epact.ppa.nhs.uk/

and press the 'Return' key.

3. Before continuing, perform the following actions. Note that these only have to be done once, not every time you log in.

a. Bookmark the website by clicking the 'Add to favorites' option from the 'Favorites' menu.

b. Choose the 'Just add the page to my favorites' option:




c. Click OK. Now, whenever you log on, you can go straight to the ePACT.net website by selecting it from the Favorites menu:

d. Prevent your browser from simply loading the application from your computer's own disk every time by doing the following:

• Select 'Internet Options' from the 'View' menu.
• Select the 'General' tab.
• Click 'Settings' under 'Temporary Internet Files'.
  
• Make sure that 'Every visit to the page' is checked.
• Click OK..OK to return to the browser.
  

4. The ePACT.net website should now be visible on the screen.

5. Click on 'Systems'.

6. Click on the following link or the 'enter' icon to go to the login screen:

7. Enter your User ID and Password exactly as given. Note that when you type your password, it will appear as asterisks - this is a security feature to prevent your password being read by others.

8. Click OK on the login box. If you have typed your User ID and Password correctly, the main ePACT.net application will be loaded.

For subsequent logins, simply select the PPA website from your 'Favorites' menu and follow steps 5 - 8.
