Urgent fees are not payable for prescriptions dispensed after the normal working hours agreed between the contractor and the PCT for England and LHB for Wales before the actual closing of the pharmacy and the contractor still being present.

 

ALL "URGENT" PRESCRIPTIONS MUST BE ENDORSED WITH THE TIME AND DATE OF DISPENSING

In order to qualify for the non-resident rates, a contractor who normally lives elsewhere than on his business premises will need to have left those premises and to return to open them to dispense an "urgent" prescription. In the absence of an endorsement "non-resident" on "urgent" prescription forms, payments will automatically be made at the "resident" rate.

Further endorsement may be necessary for other purposes eg Part II Clause 8 (Basic Price), Clause 9 (Endorsement Requirements) and Notes to Part VIII (35).
