I am seeking to understand the value and volume of products delivered direct to home. Although I know that many of these products are prescribed and dispensed through FP10HP, many of these products could be dispensed in pharmacies. In addition, I know that some products delivered to home are not included on FP10 HP. A group of pharmacies (listed below) do direct to home delivery, and the value of products which go through these pharmacies would help me understand the value of this part of the market. Would it be possible to get information on the value of products dispensed through these pharmacies? It would also be interested to know the value of these products by BNF chapter and section. I don''t know how relevant the freedom of information act is to this request, and as you mentioned I recognise that this needs to be balanced with some level of confidentiality as this research is not for the DH. However, I am asking for the information to help me understand the importance of direct to home delivery for a client who wants to work in partnership with the NHS to deliver direct to home - I have been talking to PaSA and the National Home Care Medicines Supplies Committee who are keen for new companies to support the NHS in delivering direct to home as it helps hospitals reduce costs - by reducing bed days and tax liability.
