Health Authority Mergers - April 2001

The mergers of eight Health Authorities (HA) and the subsequent creation of four new Health Authorities are in force from 1 April 2001.

  • Isle of Wight HA will merge with Portsmouth & South East Hampshire HA to form Isle of Wight, Portsmouth & South East Hampshire HA.
  • Bromley HA will merge with Bexley & Greenwich HA to form Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich HA.
  • Barnet HA will merge with Enfield & Haringey HA to form Barnet, Enfield & Haringey HA.
  • West Hertfordshire HA will merge with East & North Hertfordshire HA to form Hertfordshire HA.

The following PPA services will reflect these changes for prescriptions dispensed after 1 April 2001:

  • payments to pharmacy and appliance contractors;
  • schedules for payments to dispensing doctors and personal administration;
  • and systems that produce prescribing and financial information.
