To use the Search Facility:

The Search facility makes it easy to locate the data you require by supplying appropriate search criteria. It is possible to search each data dimension (except Financial Year) for specific information.

Please note that the Search functionality has no dependence upon the Data Selector - changing the selections will have no effect upon this screen.

1. Click on the Search button on the toolbar: {short description of image}

or select File..New..Search from the menu. After a few seconds, a blank search screen will appear, entitled 'Search_1':

2. Usage of the screen is quite intuitive. You may search data dimensions other than Financial Year on all the available criteria and levels. Enter a keyword on which to search (this field is not case-sensitive) and press Return or click the Search button.

3. The results of your search are displayed in the left-hand box.

Further points about search functionality:

1. Search results may be selected or deselected by clicking on the item. You may select all items between two points by selecting one item on the list, holding down the Shift key, then selecting another item. You may invert the selections - ie change selected into deselected and vice-versa - by clicking the 'Invert Selections' button. The list can be reverted back to being all deselected by pressing 'Ctrl' and 'C'.

2. Items may be transferred to the 'Selected Results' column by either clicking the '>' button for selected items or the '>>' button for all items.

3. Further searches can be performed if required and the desired items added to the 'Selected Results' as detailed above. Note that this must be within the same data dimension - if the data dimension is changed then all results will clear and the screen will revert back to its original state.

4. A tag can be created by clicking the 'Save Selections as Tag' button and following the instructions in the Tags section.
