Category D Impact on PPA Services
Users of our services will be aware that our processing and prescribing information services are currently three months behind normal schedule as a result of generic drug supply problems affecting the volume of prescriptions to be processed that fall within Category D of the Drug Tariff.
We recognise that this situation is causing problems for our stakeholders in managing and planning prescribing trends and costs and we are doing all that we can to return our services to their normal schedule as soon as possible. Information on the background to the problem, the steps we are taking to recover the position and recovery time-scales are described here .
The expected dates for the availability of the information services will be provided here, in addition to the monthly letters sent to HAs, PCGs, Hospital Trusts and Contractors until normal service levels are resumed.
