Patient Exemption Categories for ETP Pilot

The following table indicates the current exemption categories and their descriptions . The dispenser is required to enter into the EtpDispense Message the exemption category . The dispenser is also required to indicate whether evidence of exemption has been seen .

* For codes H, K, M and N, the exemption from a prescription charge payment may be due to the patient or the patient's partner receiving benefit or credit. Therefore the PPA require the printed name, date of birth and national insurance number of the patient or partner claiming benefit or credit. For the ETP pilot, this information will be included on the Patient Declaration Form. This information is used by the PPA Compliance Unit.
