Data Analysis Provided By The Compliance Management Services Section
The Management Services section of the PPA Compliance Unit is able to provide information to Health Authorities, PCTs, PCGs, the Department of Health and other colleagues to assist them in any the monitoring of prescribing and dispensing or enquiry into potential irregularity.
In addition, information can be provided on other aspects of the Compliance Unit's work, such as patient verification claims.
Information on a variety of areas can be provided. The following are examples of the types of analysis available on request.
- Identification unusual links between dispenser and prescriber
- Provision of information on costs
- Provision of information on prescription group type distribution
- Provision of information on controlled drug volumes
- Provision of information on the submission of dispensed items to attract additional fees
- A summary of active referrals for HAs
- Identification and retrieval of specific forms
- Identification of low cost chargeable items
- Incidences of high volume vaccines
- Support to police prosecutions and provision of documents
- Details of monies recovered by HA and by exemption category
- Reports on evasion levels by HA and by exemption category
- Other bespoke analyses, subject to information availability and cost-effectiveness
Reports such as those outlined above aid Health Authorities in their future decisions. No charge is made for information provision unless the request is particularly time or resource consuming when we would discuss the position with the customer. Our aim is to assist and support customers.
