Nurse Prescribing
Information for GP Practices

"Information relating to prescribing by nurses is available to GP practices from the PPA's PACT system."

The following reports are available which include information in respect of prescribing by nurses to authorised users:

• PACT Standard Report
• PACT Catalogue.

The PACT Standard Report is produced automatically each quarter and is available monthly on request at the following levels:

• GP
• Practice.

Prescribing by nurses working within a practice and nurses directly employed by the Primary Care Trust (PCT) are included in the totals. The back page of the report shows separate nurse prescribing totals split by:

• District Nurse and Health Visitor Formulary nurses
• Extended Formulary nurses.

From April 2003 the report will include prescribing totals for Supplementary Nurse Prescribers in the Extended Formulary Nurse figures.

The PACT Catalogue is available, on request, covering any consecutive period of between one and twenty-four months for:

• an individual nurse working within a practice
• all nurses prescribing within a Practice.
